Courchevel and Courchevel Hi/Lo
Courchevel is a popular dealer's choice game. All players are dealt 5 cards. 5 community cards come to the board in the usual order: flop, turn, river. Courchevel is different from the usual community card poker variants, as the dealer instantly turns the first card of the flop over, as a 'preview' of the flop. Then comes the first round of betting. From here on, there is no significant difference to 5 Card Omaha, two additional cards are dealt to the flop, then comes the turn and the river. Players will have to make a hand with two pocket cards and 3 from the board. The strongest hand wins, while in the Hi/Lo version players can also play for the lowest combinations.
Courchevel will be available in Pot Limit, Courchevel Hi/Lo will be available in Pot Limit and Fixed limit variations.
The new games will arrive to the following stakes:
Pot Limit – $0.10/$0.25 - $200/$400
Fixed Limit (5 Card Omaha Hi/Lo and Courchevel Hi/Lo) – $1/$2 - $1,000/$2,000
This is the first time since 2008 (Badugi) that PokerStars introduces a new gametype.
