“I am incredibly excited to be entering into a sponsorship with partypoker”
As it is very well known, Partypoker set a goal several years ago of becoming the number one poker operator. They go strong in the live tournament scene, they have one of the best online tournament offerings, they keep improving their cash games and now they start to put more emphasis on their presence on the number one online streaming platform, Twitch.
As the site announced, focusing their efforts on streaming is part of an overarching strategy for 2019. They work on building a global online poker audience by creating content and investing in Twitch.TV.
“We have been a bit behind the curve when it comes to streaming, but we are hoping to make up for lost time by compiling an elite team that will be able to stream entertaining and engaging content 24/7,” - said Tom Waters, Partypoker Managing Director.
The first two members of the team are popular content creators, Canadian Matt Staples, and Australia-based Hristivoje “ALLinPav” Pavlovic.
The two have already built a sizeable audience on Twitch. Matt (who is the brother of fellow poker streamer, Jamie Staples) has over 52,000 followers, while Hristivoje has over 40,000 himself.
“I am incredibly excited to be entering into a sponsorship with Partypoker,” Staples said.
“Becoming a sponsored pro is something I’ve aspired to for a while now, and I couldn’t be happier about the partnership. There’s nothing I like more than streaming tournaments on Twitch and I’m pumped to have the opportunity to showcase and help grow partypoker and their Twitch community.”
After Matt and “ALLinPav” a third member has also joined. Travis "dramaticdegen" Darroch signed on as the third Team Online pro.
Bill Perkins with his girlfriend and daughters
Partypoker recently announced their cooperation with another high-profile Twitch-show, “The Thirst Lounge”. The show was founded by high-stakes player and hedge fund manager, Bill Perkins and focuses on "poker, having fun and living life to its full potential."
While Partypoker is going strong on Twitch, their number one competitor, PokerStars has recently cut ties with two of their most popular streamers, aforementioned Jamie Staples and Jeff Gross. While this has not been confirmed, according to rumors circulating around in the industry the two might join Partypoker's Team Online in the upcoming future.
