Satisfy Your Need for Speed with partypoker’s $1 Million McLaren Turbo Series
Players will be excited to hear that the second edition of partypoker’s McLaren Turbo Series is kicking off this August. With fast-paced tournaments and various buy-ins, this series puts $1 million on the line. Below, we look at what players can expect with this exciting racing-themed tournament.
The McLaren Turbo Series Structure
The second edition series offers various tournaments and plays off from the 13th to the 28th of August. All the events in this tournament have turbo schedules, delivering fast gameplay and a few hours at the table. As such, the blind levels increase every three to five minutes, and the events allow minimal re-entries.
Buy-ins range as low as $0.01 via many satellites or $1.10 with regular buy-ins, with the maximum buy-in being $109. Daily sprint tournaments ensure there are multiple Day 1s available, and players that advance to the no-direct buy in Daily Sprint Final are assured of a payout.
Main Event
There are two main events, the bigger one awarding a $100,000 guaranteed jackpot with a $33 buy-in, while the other awards $20,000 altogether with a $5.50 buy-in. The more significant Main Event uses a phased format, with multiple Day 1 flights.
The top 15% of the players during the Day 1 flights will progress to Day 2, which means the tournament must attract 3,334 entries to avoid overlay. The smaller Main Event is perfect for more casual players using multiple Day 1 flights.
However, that’s not all. Players get a chance to win a much sought-after pair of Grandstand tickets. These tickets allow players to head to the Brazil, Mexico, or Vegas Grand Prix. The Main Event first-place winner will receive a further $5,000 package for their accommodation and flight tickets.
Other Events
Players can also experience other popular events with turbo structures, such as partypoker’s marquee events, Sunday Carnival and Sunday Party. The Sunday Carnival boasts an impressive $30,000 prize pool, with a buy-in of just $22. Further, the Sunday Party uses the popular Progressive Knockout (PKO) format with a $109 buy-in.
Partnering with Formula 1 Team
The Formula 1 team, McLaren Racing, partnered with partypoker previously, offering the first edition of this series, among others. This event is the fourth joint promotion this partnership has produced, cementing their relationship that started in May 2021.
The partnership first started gaining visibility during the Monaco Grand Prix, as the McLaren car boasted the logos of partycasino and partypoker. It further adorned the helmet of the driver, Daniel Ricciardo, who’s also the face of the brand’s responsible gambling campaign.
Other Partnered Events
The first McLaren-themed poker event the two brands held was the F1 Card Rush. It had some excellent prizes, like packages that provided VIP experiences at the 2022 Grand Prix de France. The first turbo series was hosted in July 2022, promising a whopping $2.5 million guaranteed prize pool.
