WPN Network Introduces $50 Million OSS XL Series

The Winning Poker Network (WPN) offers players many excellent tournaments and series. However, none are as iconic as its flagship event, the Online Super Series (OSS). This September, players will experience an OSS bigger than ever before with the new XL format, which debuted in May. With three poker rooms part of this network, namely PokerKing, ACR and Blackchip, players have ample opportunity to join the event.

Online Super Series XL

The OSS XL started on the 3rd of September and runs until the 2nd of October. The best is that there are three multi-flight tourneys, with Day 1 flights happening until the 2nd of October. Players can join anytime and stand a chance to win their share of $50 million.

That’s right, this OSS series is XL thanks to its impressive $50 million guaranteed prize pool, which is 25 bigger than the May OSS with a $40 million pool. However, the format and game types also contribute to its new XL moniker.

Format

This series offers various game types, with Mystery Bounty, Progressive Knockout, Pot-Limit Omaha, and more available. There are 106 numbered events, with each boasting three buy-in levels. That makes the total number of events available around 318. With low, medium and high buy-ins ranging between $0.10 and $2,650, casual and high-roller players can participate in this series.

Mystery Bounty events allow casual players and high rollers to become part of the action. It starts as low as a $2.50 buy-in Mystery Bounty with a $75k GTD and a $7.5k top bounty. However, it can also go as high as a $215 buy-in event with a $2 million GTD and a $200k top bounty.

Main Events

Six Main Events are available, with the two highest offering a $2.5 million guarantee each. The buy-in for these two events is $1,050 and $2,650; each is a three-day tournament.

Days 1A and 1B of these tournaments start on the 24th of September and the 1st of October, with Day 2 on the 2nd of October and the final day on the 3rd of October. The other mains have buy-ins ranging from $109 to $630 to $2,650, with guarantees between $500k and $2 million.

Leaderboard

Another new feature implemented with the XL moniker is the first-ever leaderboard in the Online Super Series. Three leaderboards are available for each of the buy-in levels. Points are calculated as “square root (prize pool) / square root (ITM finish place),” with the 10 best players on each leaderboard receiving prizes.

Prizes can range from $500 to $10,000 in cash or $86 to $1,278 in tickets, depending on the buy-in bracket and leaderboard position.
