PokerStars’ Sunday Million Season Celebrates Its Anniversary with a Six-Week Festival
PokerStars have made many changes recently that have seen the room climb to the top of the world poker rankings. The brand offering new and exciting changes like Power Paths and an upgraded rewards system. The latest exciting event being an unprecedented six-week-long festival season to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Sunday Million.
2024 Sunday Million Season
The almost $20 million Sunday Million Season kicks off on March 10th and runs until April 21st. It will start with a prologue and then boast 23 episodes, with 40 tournaments in total.
Format
This festival offers No-Limit Hold’em tables, adhering to an eight-handed structure. Many of the events will follow the bounty format, with 13 out of the 40 being Mystery Bounty tournaments. However, the most significant format for the Sunday Million festival season is Progressive Knockouts, which account for 19 of the events.
Leaderboards and Buy-in Tiers
There are three buy-in tiers, with each boasting a unique leaderboard. Players get points based on the place they finish in tournaments, with 100 points to the tournament champion, 80 points to the runner-up, and so on. The buy-ins range between $3.30 and $1,050, divided into the following three teirs:
- Low: $3.30 - $11
- Medium: $33 - $109
- High: $215 - $1,050
Events and Highlights
Various events are available, guaranteeing $19,160,000 across all the events. One of the primary highlights is the $8 million guaranteed SM Anniversary event sporting a $215 buy-in. However, that’s not all to look forward to.
Many special and themed events will run, and not just on Sundays. Players can receive boosted guarantees, badges, and additional prizes or try to win one of the seven trophies. There’s a $100k given as leaderboard prizes, and players can also win tickets to the upcoming 2024 SCOOP festival.
Together with the 18th birthday of Sunday Million, PokerStars is also celebrating the 13th anniversary of Sunday Storm by providing an $11 buy-in event, presenting a $500k prize pool. The poker room also slots events for Saturday and other weekdays, except for Fridays.
Specific events before April 7th will have thrilling, boosted guarantees, while the maximum possible buy-in remains low at $55. Sunday Million Anniversary tickets worth $215 will also accompany these boosts.
Players who reach the final tables on low buy-in events will also win these tickets. Finally, any players who beat PokerStars ambassadors in the events named after them will receive a Season Finale ticket worth $109. These events are:

Season Finale
This exciting season culminates in the $1.5 million Sunday Million Season Finale, which boasts a buy-in of $109. However, that’s not all. There’s also a season wrap-up event boasting up to $200k with three buy-in tiers and the epilogue event awarding up to $300k, depending on the buy-in tier.

Satellites from as little as $1.10 for this festival have already begun, with the brand releasing $100k worth of Season Finale tickets. Power Path events, starting at 50 cents, is another possible qualification system, and special Spin & Go’s start from as little as 60 cents.
