Unibet's Chip Race Editions Returns: 25 Events, €100K Assured

Poker fans, exciting news is here as Unibet Poker brings back The Chip Race Series for a third edition! This thrilling series is a tribute to the award-winning podcast called The Chip Race, hosted by Dara O’Kearney and David Lappin. 

Featuring 25 tournaments, the series guarantees a huge €100,000 prize pool for players. The event is from March 2nd to March 10th—nine days of great poker action.

The podcast is a big success. It is the award-winning Unibet Poker that sponsors it. David Lappin and Dara O’Kearney host it. It started in March 2015. The show has a radio format with segments and guests. David Lappin recalled their start decades ago. Dara O’Kearney is amazed at their global reach. 

The podcast began focused on Irish poker. It returned in 2017 with Unibet Poker. It became global. The Chip Race podcast has aired 170 episodes over 24 seasons. It has clinched the Global Poker Awards by GPI. It’s a leading voice in poker.

The third Chip Race Series presents a packed nine-day schedule where players can enter 25 different events. Each one has a €25 entry fee. Unibet Poker provides varied game formats, including turbo and bounty events, plus strategic Omaha Pot-Limit. 

Intriguing bounty event variations include a 70% jackpot type, where buy-ins (most of it) fund the bounty prize, and a fast 20BB edition for short-stacked play. The series guarantees ‌€100,000 in prizes, meaning big wins for skilled players.

The event names cleverly link to podcast themes. For example, "Lock-In,"  "Dara’s Deepstack," and "The Chip Race Ante Up Battle" add a unique flavour. You'll also see "Barry’s Banzai" and "Trappin’ Lappin Episode" as part of the themed tournament lineup. 

Tournaments begin daily at CET 19:05, with at least three events running each day, creating non-stop action. The Main Event is prominent as the series highlight, offering a phased format and €10,000 in the guaranteed prize pool.

A leaderboard adds extra excitement because Unibet Poker is giving away another €2000 in rewards to reward top performers. The highest 25 players will win cash and receive a valuable voucher of $1,000 from Upswing Poker, increasing the stakes. 

To encourage broad participation, participants who join at least 20 events will get a reward, receiving €10 in tournament tickets for the next Chip Race Phase.

This time, the prize guarantees are lower compared to past series, which offered €200,000 in total prizes. Unibet Poker explains this adjustment is due to a smaller player base after they recently exited some European markets. 

This change followed Kindred Group's acquisition by FDJ, and now Unibet Poker operates in fewer regions, impacting the player pool size.

Despite adjusted guarantees, the third edition of the Chip Race remains thrilling as it celebrates ten years of the Chip Race show.
