WPT Global, one of the world’s largest online poker platforms, has cracked down on cheaters in a major way. In a recent update to its Game Integrity page, the operator revealed that it banned dozens of accounts and seized over $166,000 between January and May 2025.
While only internal user IDs were published—no screen names—the update marks the first time the site has publicly disclosed such data. The company states that all confiscated funds were redistributed to affected players.
“We have a zero-tolerance policy for third-party software, collusion, or any form of cheating,” WPT Global said. “We’re committed to making WPT Global the safest and fairest platform in online poker.”
The move aligns WPT Global with other operators like PokerStars, GGPoker, and PartyPoker, who have also shared enforcement stats in recent years. Notably, PartyPoker banned 291 accounts and refunded $70K in 2024 alone.
WPT Global’s enforcement figures stand out—$166,885 seized in just five months, or over $33,000 per month. However, the operator has not revealed the total number of investigations or detailed the nature of each violation.
Crackdown Follows High-Profile Streamer Ban
The update comes weeks after WPT Global removed sponsored streamer Alan Finn (AlanFPoker), who appeared to display a real-time assistance (RTA) chart during a Twitch broadcast. RTA tools, which provide solver-based advice during live play, are banned by virtually all major platforms.
Like GGPoker and others, WPT Global works with GTO Wizard, a solver and training tool, to help detect suspicious play. GTO Wizard has also assisted other sites in uncovering RTA violations, including a recent GGPoker ban wave affecting 31 accounts.
Stronger Security with AceGuardian
WPT Global says its anti-cheating system—AceGuardian—is powered by AI and monitored by a 50-person integrity team. The software is developed by A5 Labs, a firm focused on fair play and cheating prevention in poker.
To support these efforts, the platform runs a unique Rewarding Integrity in Poker (RIP) program, offering financial rewards to players who report cheating. According to WPT Global, some tips have led to six-figure payouts.
It's unclear whether these account bans will be published regularly or if this was a one-time disclosure. For now, WPT Global joins a growing list of operators making fair play a public priority.
