888poker has launched a brand-new competitive format that blends online play with real-world rewards. The newly announced Global League gives players a chance to earn leaderboard points, win online tickets, and even secure travel packages to major 888poker LIVE events.
Community, Competition, and Accessible Buy-ins
According to the operator, the Global League was designed with one clear purpose: to strengthen the 888poker community through regular, easy-to-join tournaments. The series keeps buy-ins at modest levels, while also offering freerolls so that casual players can get involved at no cost.
The league runs on the .com platform (excluding players in Denmark, Northern Ireland, Romania, and Sweden) and operates on a monthly cycle. Each Sunday beginning November 9, players can enter a $5.50 event with $1,000 guaranteed.
To make things more inclusive, 888poker hosts three freerolls per week—Thursday through Saturday—each granting free entries to the top 50 finishers for the Sunday event. Passwords for these freerolls will be revealed on 888poker’s Instagram channel, encouraging fans to engage across platforms.
How It Works
Leaderboard points are distributed based on finishing positions. In a 500-player event, for instance, the winner receives 500 points, the runner-up 499, and so forth.
Those who play all four Sunday events in a month earn an extra 50 points, and weekly Instagram contests can add another 50-point bonus for lucky participants.
At the end of the month, the top 20 players on the leaderboard will share in a mix of online and live prizes.
Monthly Rewards
- 🥇 1st Place: 888poker LIVE package (approx. $2,000 value), including Main Event entry, travel, and accommodation
- 🥈 2nd Place: Seat in an upcoming 888poker LIVE Main Event
- 🥉 3rd Place: Online Main Event ticket worth up to $250
- 4th: 30-minute private coaching session with an 888poker ambassador
- 5th–10th: $109 online tournament ticket

A New Spin on the League Format
While 888poker has long offered structured promotions, this marks a clear shift toward recurring, leaderboard-based competition. The idea echoes some live circuits—like the UK Poker League (UKPL) co-hosted by 888poker and Grosvenor Casinos—but brings that experience online for a broader global audience.
Poker leagues have a long tradition, from PokerStars’ former School League to PartyPoker’s Premier League. Yet 888poker’s take stands out for its simplicity and its focus on recreational participation rather than high-stakes grinding.
The Global League represents the brand’s next step in fostering an active and loyal community—one that plays, connects, and celebrates poker both online and live, month after month.
