WPT Global has begun notifying certain players that their accounts will be migrated to a new platform called Nexa Poker on March 2.

According to emails received by affected users, no action is required on their part. Account balances, login credentials, and personal details will be transferred automatically to the new site. WPT Global has not yet issued a formal public statement, but representatives on the company’s official Discord channel have confirmed that the communication is legitimate and not a phishing attempt.

Who Is Affected?

Most reports so far have come from players in Canada, although isolated cases have surfaced in countries such as Peru. It remains unclear exactly which jurisdictions are included in the migration.

Canada is largely considered a grey market outside of Ontario, which operates a ring-fenced regulated system that WPT Global does not serve. Alberta is also preparing to introduce a regulated online gaming framework later this year.

What Is Nexa Poker?

Public information about Nexa Poker is limited. The platform appears to function as an invitation-only skin potentially connected to the existing WPT Global ecosystem. Its branding closely resembles WPT Global’s visual identity, and the structure suggests shared liquidity may remain in place.

Unlike traditional poker sites, Nexa Poker does not offer open registration. Visitors are met with a “Play Now” button displaying an “Exclusive — By Invitation Only” message.

The site is operated by Runstream Ltd, a Costa Rica-incorporated company, and holds a license from the Anjouan Offshore Authority, issued in July 2025. Anjouan, part of the Comoros Islands, has recently become a more active offshore licensing jurisdiction, particularly among crypto-focused and grey-market operators.

Regulatory Context

Nexa Poker’s terms restrict access from several regulated European markets, including the UK, Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Austria.

The migration may indicate a structural separation between regulated ambitions and grey-market operations. Such a model mirrors strategies used elsewhere in the industry, where operators maintain licensed platforms in regulated markets while redirecting grey-market traffic to separate offshore skins.

At this stage, WPT Global has not clarified the full scope of the transition or confirmed whether additional markets will be impacted.
