Record Turnout at WPT Borgata Open

It seems the players who did not participate in WSOPE for some reason are attending WPT Borgata Poker Open instead, which has reached the largest player pool ever in WPT history, a total of 1,042 players.

Of course the high number of participants might be related to the relatively small buy-in (only $3,300+$200) but knowing that most of the good players are at the WSOPE, it’s a solid turnout. It seems likely that the prize pool will be around $3,4 million, based on some very basic calculations, the winner will likely earn around $930,000, which is very good for a $3,300+$200 buy-in tournament. WPT is at its 3rd day, with 175 players remaining and the leaderboard looks as follows:
