WSOP Events #25 – #28: Recap

Of the events finished during the past weekend in WSOP 2012, let us take a look at the results of Event #25 $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout, Event #26 $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha, Event #27 $1,500 HORSE and Event #28 $2,500 No Limit Hold'em - Four-Handed.

The 10-handed final table of Event #25 $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout was held on Day 3, with Victor Ramdin in the chiplead. Christopher Hartman was out first, followed by Ian Johns, Sean Rice, Matthew SchreiberPreston Derden, Brock Parker and Ramdin. The heads-up was set by the elimination of Christopher Vitch.

Brian Meinders: 1,200,000
Darin Thomas: 440,000


Thomas was unable to reduce his handicap and the event was over soon when he shoved on the {#}8 {#}T {#}6 flop.

WSOP 2012 Event #25 Winnings

18 players returned for Day 3 of Event #26 $3,000 Pot Limit Omaha, including Vadzim Kursevich, Oleksii Kovalchuk, Robert Williamson III, Dutch Boyd, John Racener and Erik Seidel. The 9-handed final table was set when Jon Hoellein got railed; he was then followed by Thomas Pettersson, Boyd, Romik Vartzar, Tom Chambers, Khiem Nguyen, Scott Stanko and Kursevich in 3rd place.

Austin Scott: 4,241,000
Brett Richey: 1,060,000


Scott managed to keep his lead, until he made the decisive raise to get Richey all-in on the {#}8 {#}6 {#}2 {#}Q board.

Scott won his first WSOP bracelet with a straight.

WSOP 2012 Event #26 Winnings

Only 3 players were left when Event #27 $1,500 HORSE resumed on Day 4: David Chiu, Ylon Schwartz and Stephen Chidwick were in contest for the bracelet. Chidwick lost his stack in an Omaha Hi/Lo hand first to leave the other two playing heads-up.

Ylon Schwartz: 3,300,000
David Chiu: 700,000


Chiu could come back to 1,685,000 in chips but eventually lost a major pot in a Stud hand.

Chiu lost his remaining 200,000 a couple of hands later and Schwartz could take home his first ever bracelet.

WSOP 2012 Event #27 Winnings

Event #28 $2,500 No Limit Hold'em - Four-Handed was the first one ever of its kind at the WSOP and only 8 players remained out of the initial 750 contestants for Day 3. The four-handed final table was led by Brendon Rubie with 2,693,000 in chips. After Anthony Gregg and James Schaaf were out, Rubie and Timothy Adams played heads-up.

Timothy Adams: 4,890,000
Brendon Rubie: 750,000

Rubie came back to almost even by the time the last hand came around. They shoved on the {#}8 {#}Q {#}T {#}5 board.

Adams’ two pairs meant a victory and his first WSOP bracelet.
