WSOP 2013 Event #29 $5,000 HORSE had 261 entrants, 229 of whom making it to Day 2. The 32 ITM finishes were reached that day, with no other than Daniel Negreanu bubbling the money. Eventually, 28 players remained, including Dan Kelly, who reached his eighth in the money WSOP finish this year; chipleader two times WSOP champion Greg Mueller; as well as three times WSOP champion Tom Schneider, who aimed at his second HORSE bracelet in the present World Series.

The eight-handed Final Table was ultimately drawn as follows:

Seat 1: Greg Mueller – 748,000
Seat 2: Konstantin Puchkov – 91,000
Seat 3: David Benyamine – 155,000
Seat 4: Viatcheslav Ortynsiky – 311,000
Seat 5: Chris Klodnicki – 657,000
Seat 6: Tom Schneider – 874,000
Seat 7: Benjamin Scholl – 279,000
Seat 8: Adam Friedman – 803,000

First out was WSOP 2010 $1,500 HORSE champion Konstantin Puchkov, meeting Adam Friedman’s pair of nines on the turn in an Omaha Hi-Lo hand. WSOP and WPT title holder David Benyamine lost his chips in two Razz hands and he was followed by Friedman, who, despite having a strong start, dropped back significantly in a Stud Hi-Lo hand against Schneider and lost the rest of his stack in Razz.

Schneider then moved on to call Chris Klodnicki’s all-in in a Razz hand on the sixth street and the latter got a five on the seventh for a pair and he was out in 5th. With a long 3rd day, the remaining four players had to abandon game and return on Day 4 with the following stacks:

Seat 1: Greg Mueller – 140,000
Seat 4: Viatcheslav Ortynsiky – 680,000
Seat 6: Tom Schneider – 2,500,000
Seat 7: Benjamin Scholl – 600,000

About 20 minutes into Day 4, Viatcheslav Ortynsiky was out in 4th, re-raising all-in on Schneider’s raise in a Hold’em hand and the latter calling, holding {#}A {#}2 against Ortynsiky’s {#}K {#}4 . The flop came A-Q-3-8-4 and Ortynsiky was eliminated.

Still on the same level, Mueller finished 3rd: in a Stud hand, Benjamin Scholl folded on the third street, while Mueller called all-in on Schneider’s bet on the fourth.

Mueller: ({#}8 {#}8 ) / {#}7 {#}T {#}7 {#}Q / ({#}5 )
Schneider: ({#}K {#}3 ) / {#}K {#}9 {#}6 {#}9 / ({#}9 )

Despite the flush, Mueller’s hand was cracked by Schneider’s full house and the heads-up was set.

Tom Schneider – 3,035,000
Benjamin Scholl – 885,000

In only a couple of hands, the event was over: they shoved in a Hold’em hand on the {#}A {#}J {#}6 {#}K board.

Schneider: {#}A {#}T
Scholl: {#}K {#}Q

River: {#}J

Schneider managed to win a second HORSE bracelet in this year’s WSOP and a fourth title altogether.
