The field of 9,735 entries in the 2025 WSOP Main Event has been whittled down to just nine players who will return to Las Vegas to battle for the $10,000,000 first prize and poker’s most coveted title. Each finalist is guaranteed at least $1,000,000.
Big Names and Historic Stories at the Final Table
Headlining the final nine is Michael Mizrachi, who continues to cement his legacy with another remarkable WSOP run. Already a record-setting four-time winner of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, Mizrachi is making his second Main Event final table appearance, 15 years after his first in 2010. He will enter the finale with 93 million chips, good for second in the counts.
Another returning finalist is Belgium’s Kenny Hallaert. Known for his deep 2016 Main Event run where he finished sixth, Hallaert now sits fourth in chips with 80.5 million as he prepares for another shot at poker’s world championship.
Making history of her own is Spain’s Leo Margets. She becomes the first woman to reach the Las Vegas Main Event final table since Barbara Enright’s landmark 1995 run. Margets bagged 53.4 million chips, continuing a career that already includes an open-field WSOP bracelet.
John Wasnock Leads the Final Nine
Emerging as the chip leader is John Wasnock, a largely unknown amateur from Seattle who delivered an impressive comeback on the penultimate day. Surviving several all-in spots, Wasnock closed the day with 108.1 million chips (68 big blinds), setting himself up as the player to catch when the final table begins.
