While the Partouche Poker Tour (PPT) Grand Final in Cannes was under way, a scandal erupted about the guaranteed prize pool of the event. Organisers published the official prizes and despite the fact players could compete for some handsome cash, the total prize pool did not reach the originally advertised €5 million guaranteed. Players gave voice to their outrage but the Partouche Group said they had never offered a guaranteed prize pool. Evidence soon surfaced and, eventually, Patrick Partouche made up the difference but also announced the end of the Partouche Poker Tour.
