iPoker’s Impressive Event: Elite Series XL Autumn Edition

Playtech’s dedicated poker network, iPoker, has made impressive strides in recent years. From doubling its figures between the 2019/20 and the 2021/22 winters to expanding into new markets, this network has seen remarkable growth. 

The latest step to broaden its influence is holding the largest tournament ever in this brand’s repertoire. We examine what poker players should expect from the €7.5M Elite Series XL Autumn Edition 2024.

The iPoker network has around 50 skins, a milestone it achieved after expanding its skins in 2022 to include major poker rooms. While it’s been partnering with live poker tours such as the Irish Poker Open for a while now, it’s also added more partnerships. These include hosting The Festival’s online qualifiers.

Another way the brand ensured its growth is by staying on top of the latest and most popular poker formats. Players can now find Run It Twice, Mystery Bounty, and All-In Cashout games on the site. 

It even offers a new boost mechanic to several of its games, like Twister and the lottery-stye sit-and-go game. We can see the effects of this expansion in the network’s offerings. Its usual €1 million to €2.5 million guaranteed tournaments have jumped to €5 million or more in recent years. 

The 2023 Autumn Festival had a €5.5 million prize pool. However, what really shows the network’s growth is the 56% increase in the average guarantee per tournament from the 2023 edition.

The Elite Series XL’s Autumn Edition started on September 1st. It’ll run until October 10th, offering more than a month of events. The series boasts a €7.5 million prize pool, which is €2 million more than last year. 

However, it’s only a half-million increase from the Elite Spring Edition Series, which took place from May to June 2024. It dropped the number of tournaments from 568 to 496 (a 13% decrease). Despite this drop, the 500-tournament schedule remains one of the vastest this network has offered. 

While the buy-ins are geared towards mid-range to high-range players, they’re accessible for most budgets. They start at €2 and go up to €500, with both flights and regular events available. Due to popular demand, Xtra events have also been added, and 10 of the 596 events are flighted.

The €250 buy-in Main Event has a €300,000 guarantee, and satellites and Snack tournaments grant seats. To prepare players for it, the Elite Bootcamp, a warm-up series held the last few days of August, was also held.

Playtech’s poker network isn’t the only one offering tournaments this September. The series schedule will coincide with GGPoker’s WSOP Online Bracelet series and PokerStars’ WCOOP event.
