Poker players who know the iPoker network are taking notice as this poker room makes various innovative game changes. The latest change is the Boost mechanic, something the poker world hasn’t seen before. Explore the ins and outs of the Boost feature and how it’ll permanently change iPoker’s LSNG games.
Innovation in LSNG Games: Boost Mechanic
Boost is a new feature that lets poker players make an additional buy-in to compete for bigger prizes. It’s available in the Twister edition of this brand’s lottery-style sit-and-go (LSNG) games.
This feature is available in Wild and Classic Twister tables, with the lobby marking the games with a special “Boost” icon. However, it won’t be available in some games, like the Age of the Gods Twister game.
How It Works
The typical Twister LSNG jackpot games randomly generate the prize pool at the start of the games. It ranges from 2x the buy-in to 1,000x the buy-in. However, instead of players experiencing a potential losing spin on 2x or 3x multipliers, the Boost mechanic allows them to increase this multiplier.
Players will receive the choice to activate the “Boost,” which will only activate in the game if all three players accept it. It requires an additional buy-in from each player, but in return, the game draws a new prize and adds it to the existing jackpot.
To demonstrate, say you’re playing a €1 Twister game. When the random multiplier is drawn, you get a 3x multiplier. Instead of accepting this, all three players accept the Boost option within 20 seconds of it appearing. Each player pays another €1 buy-in, and the game draws a new multiplier of 6x. That multiplier adds to the initial 3x one to give an overall 9x multiplier of the buy-in.
Players can activate Boost multiple times, provided the game meets specific conditions. In the settings, players can toggle this mechanic on or off. Further, if any of the three players decline the boost feature, the game will continue with the existing jackpot.
How It Changes the Game
Hitting the 2x multiplier in these LSNG games generally results in a lost round for players. That’s why multiple poker rooms offer promotions to help compensate for the loss. For example, GGPoker offers a 2x insurance policy for the games.
Players pay an additional buy-in, and if the 2x multiplier hits, which is 86.4% of the time, the room refunds the initial buy-in and insurance fee.
iPoker’s Innovations in Sit and Go Games
This Boost feature isn’t the only innovative feature that iPoker players have come to enjoy. Its French skin, BetClic, offers automatic deal-making. With all of these exciting features available, we’re excited to see what other innovations this brand will produce.
