Phil Hellmuth Running for WSOP Player of the Year Title

As we reported yesterday, Phil Hellmuth finished second after Brian Rast at the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. This has been his 3rd WSOP heads-up this year, where he lost. However, he still has the chance to become the best player of the WSOP.

Tobey 'Spiderman' Maguire Sued for Illegal Poker

Tobey Maguire was sued by hedge fund manager Bradley Ruderman for playing in an illegal poker game. Ruderman wants his $311,200 back, which he lost to Maguire. Ruderman plans to tie other celebrities to his complaint.

As the two players agreed in January, Brandon Adams and Patrik Antonius indeed played their prop bet tennis match in Las Vegas. Brandon Adams didn't have a chance of winning, Antonius defeated him 6-0, 6-1.

During yesterday's Poker After Dark TV show, two of poker's biggest legends today, Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan entered a rather unusual prop bet: Dwan can call Ivey to a 100,000 hand H.O.R.S.E. challenge any time now. The extra? If Dwan loses, he only has to pay 4% of his losses.

Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond made a profit of $1,901,909 in March in online cash games, qualifying himself as the greatest high stakes winner of the month. The American WSOP champion dominated in draw games, beating the field with earnings of $1,673,108, in addition to his PLO winnings of $224,437.

Jack Ury, the oldest man ever to have played in the WSOP, passed away on 1st February, 2011 at the age of 97. His slowroll in the 2009 WSOP Main Event, as televised by ESPN, will forever be one of the most remembered moments of poker history.
